India will be up against Uzbekistan in their second match in Group B of the Asian Cup. Heading into this fixture, India are bottom of the group with zero points while Uzbekistan are just above with a point. India will be looking at avoiding an early exit from the competition having lost 2-0 to Australia on Match Day 1. India offered really little in their opening game in way of attack and will be hoping to improve on that here. They opted to sit back until they were opened up by the Socceroos early in the second half. One win in six matches doesn’t present a great run for India as they prepare for this game. in four of their last six matches, they’ve conceded more than a goal. The Uzbeks registered a 0-0 draw with Syria in their opening game of the group. That was their second straight clean sheet and eighth game undefeated. They will be seeking to go top of the group should Australia lose to Syria but most importantly, win to keep alive their second-round chances. Uzbekistan have failed to score in just one of their last eight matches – their group opener at this competition. While they come here winless in three Asian Cup matches, they have two straight clean sheets ahead of this game. Uzbekistan have participated in each Asian Cup competition since 2004.
