Top seed Iga Swiatek and third seed Cori Gauff are set to square off once again at the French Open. They will meet on Thursday, this time in the semi-finals. The winner will then progress to play one of Elena Rybakina, Jasmine Paolini, Aryna Sabalenka or Mirra Andreeva in the title match. Swiatek is the two-time French Open defending champion and in both title successes, she met Gauff. They first squared off in the final in 2022 and then in the quarter-finals last year. The Pole has dominated this matchup and is the overwhelming favourite to progress. She has won 10 of 11 meetings with the most recent success being just three weeks ago in Rome. The world number one won in straight sets and is now on a three-match winning run against Gauff. Swiatek, who is a three-time French Open champion, defeated fifth seed Marketa Vondrousova in the quarter-finals. She allowed the reigning Wimbledon champion by the loss of just two games to extend her current winning run to 17 matches.
Cori Gauff has advanced to her third successive Grand Slam semi-final. The reigning US Open champion lost in the semi-finals in Melbourne earlier this year and will hope this isn’t the fate here. Gauff earned her sole victory against Swiatek in the semi-finals in Cincinnati last year. She won in three sets and would go on to win the title and earn her maiden WTA 1000 crown. The American will hope the dominoes fall in her favour exactly in Paris. To advance to this round, Gauff, who has won four of her five matches here without dropping a set, defeated Ons Jabeur in three sets. She dug her heels in the contest and came back from a set down to eliminate the three-time Grand Slam finalist. The win saw her improve her record to 30-8 and moved her up to second place in the live ranking, a career-high. Gauff has won 12 of 15 matches on clay this year.

Our Iga Swiatek vs Coco Gauff Prediction
Our prediction for Iga Swiatek v Cori Gauff is for Swiatek to win in three sets. Swiatek has dominated this matchup and has claimed victory 10 times in 11 meetings with Gauff. She has won all their encounters on clay, two of which took place at the French Open. While all signs suggest a Swiatek victory, it will likely not be a walk in the park for the Pole. Both players have been dominant on clay this season and have brushed aside their opponents in Paris. With Gaufff adamant to push back and avoid another loss in this fixture, a decider is likely to be required here.
