Two seeds meet in the last 16 of the Rogers Cup in Montreal. Alexander Zverev is the second seed and faces Holger Rune who is seeded 13th. The pair are battling it out for a place in the quarter-final of this hard court Masters event. Read on to discover our match prediction.

Zverev is ranked fourth in the world but can't climb into the top three even if he won this tournament. The German is a place higher in the ATP Live Race and would go above Carlos Alcaraz into second if winning this title.

He certainly got his campaign off to a good start. On Thursday, he beat unseeded Jordan Thompson for the loss of just two games. Zverev is closing in on 50 wins for the year and needs just two more victories to reach that mark.

This year has seen him reach three ATP Tour hard court semi-finals and one other quarter-final. He also led Germany triumph in the United Cup team event.  He leads Rune 2-1 in previous matches, winning the last two. This is their first match on a hard court.

Holger Rune is the world number 17 and has risen to 15th in the live listings and a place lower than that in the ATP Race. He has reached one hard court final this year, that was in Brisbane seven months ago. He's also made it to two other semi-finals.

He had a tough match in round one needing three sets to get past Roberto Bautista Agut. He then faced another Spaniard and had an easier time. Pablo Carreno Busta was beaten for the loss of four games. We tip Zverev to win this match.
