Roberto Bautista Agut is seeded 23rd in this tournament but ranked 22nd in the world. He has made smooth progress in this tournament and is yet to drop a set. The third round saw him knock out the 10th seeded Karin Khachanov.  He followed that up on Monday with a straight sets victory over Benoit Paire (seeded 28th). This is his best run at Wimbledon having previously reached the fourth round in both 2015 and 2017. He has shown good form though this year reaching the last eight at the Australian Open, his only other Grand Slam quarter final.

26th seed Guido Pella has had a tough run to this quarter final. He dropped a set in the first round and then had to come from 2-1 down to beat Andreas Seppi. His big win came in the next round when he beat last year’s finalist and number four seed this year, Kevin Anderson in straight sets. Another former Wimbledon finalist was beaten in the fourth round as he beat Milos Raonic in five sets. Pella had to come back from two sets down to win that match 8-6 in the final set. This is the first time in his career he has made it to a Grand Slam quarter final, previously his best was only the third round. He has shown how dangerous he can be on grass as Pella beat Marin Cilic here last year. The hard games he's had in this tournament may well count against him. Go for Agut to make it through to the last four where Novak Djokovic is likely to be waiting.
