Grigor Dimitrov is out to maintain his 100 per cent record against Hubert Hurkacz. He's seeded 11th for this Miami Open with his opponent three places higher in the list. Whoever wins this match will be up against either top seed Carlos Alcaraz or 23rd seeded Lorenzo Musetti in the last eight. Dimitrov has played Hurkacz on four previous occasions and has come out on top in each match. Two of those wins came last year with the most recent being in the Paris Masters. That was played on an indoor hard court but this match is outdoors on that surface. Dimitrov is the world number 12 and 11th in the Live ATP Race. A win here will take him up to tenth on the latter list. Dimitrov is in the fourth round of this Masters 1000 tournament for only the third time and the last appearance was eight years ago. A win will take him into his first Miami Open quarter final. He had to go to three sets to beat Alejandro Tabilo but then lost just three games against Yannick Hanfmann.

Hubert Hurkacz won this title in 2021 and reached the last four the following year. He's ranked ninth in the world and five place lower in the Live ATP Race. This year has seen him reach the final of the United Cup team tournament with Poland. He got to the last eight of the Australian Open losing in five sets to Daniil Medvedev. A semi-final was reached in Marseille and the last eight in Dubai. To get to the last 16 in Miami, he's had two three-set matches against Alexander Shevchenko and 28th seed Sebastian Korda.
