Giro - Stage 6 Predictions & Betting tips - Giro d'Italia
by Matthew Newman |
Napoli will see the finishing line set up for Stage 6 of the Giro d'Italia. This is the longest stage of the race this year with a Cat Two and Cat Three climb during the day ahead of a long and flat run to Napoli. Let's take a look over the main contenders before making a prediction.
The climbs look tough for the sprinters but there is more than enough time after them to regroup. Olav Kooij might still be reeling from a shock defeat at the hands of Casper van Uden on Stage 4. He won into Naples last year and will be desperate to make amends.
Despite not being well known, van Uden has to be in the conversation to see if he can back up his Stage 4 win. The 23-year-old Dutchman has now put himself in the limelight.
In 2023, when the stage finished in Naples, the winner was Mads Pedersen. He has a great start to the Giro and to 2025 overall with Lidl-Trek doing a superb job of controlling the peloton. If the team take control early, the sprinting teams may exert more energy than they want to, to get their contenders back on.
