Liverpool have had a few scares in Champions League Group E but are still second with three points. That leaves them a point behind leaders Napoli and two ahead of bottom-placed Genk. The Reds lost their 100% record in the Premier League on Sunday when only drawing 1-1 at Manchester United. They still have a six-point lead at the top though and now return to the defence of their Champions League title. Their campaign began with a 2-0 loss away to Napoli but looked better when 3-0 up against Salzburg. They let that lead slip but managed to get a late winner. Now they have back-to-back games against Genk and will be hoping to get a couple of wins. Liverpool have three wins and two losses in their last five away Champions League matches. However, Genk aren't quite Napoli or Barcelona.
The Belgians have one point from their two games. That puts them two points behind third placed Red Bull Salzburg. Their main hope has to be to finish above the Austrians and go into the Europa League. They had a disastrous start to the group with a 6-2 loss in Austria but then held Napoli to goalless draw at home. Genk are sixth in the Belgian Jupiler League and only won two of their last five games with a couple of defeats. This is their first Champions League campaign since the 2011/12 season. They haven't had a great deal of success in the past with no wins in their last eight games. Any home wins have only been in qualifying matches. Go for Liverpool to get the win here and be ahead at both half and full time.
