It's been a big year for Gael Monfils and he is up to 19th in the world rankings. February saw him reach the last four of the Sofia Open and since then he's won the AMRO World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam and got through to the semi-finals in Dubai. So far at Indian Wells, he's had to go to three sets to beat Leonardo Martin Mayer but has only dropped five games in two matches including losing just two to Phillipp Kohlscreiber who had beaten Novak Djokovic in the last round.
Dominic Thiem is the seventh seed for this tournament and has yet to drop a set in this tournament. He hasn't had the greatest of years so far when not playing on his favourite clay. Thiem has already beaten Frenchman Gilles Simon but will find this tougher and the tip is for Monfils to continue his good run with a win.
