Leipzig will look to rebound in their quest for Champions League qualification as they travel to Freiburg this weekend. The Bundesliga matchday 28 fixture at the Europa-Park Stadion on Saturday will see the hosts start eighth with 36 points, while the visitors are fifth with 50 points. Freiburg defeated Monchengladbach 3-0 in their last match, right after news came out that manager Christian Streich would move away from the club at the end of the season. The hosts could look to continue their winning performances as a tribute to their outgoing manager as they chase an unlikely European qualification spot. Sixth-placed Eintracht Frankfurt are five points adrift, and Freiburg could look to at least hustle them till the end. Despite such lofty hopes, Freiburg’s home form isn’t one to be confident about, though. The hosts have failed to win their last four home league matches and have conceded three goals in three matches.

Leipzig won the reverse fixture 3-1, and a repeat would do their chances of a top-four finish a real world of good. The visitors were held to a 0-0 draw by Mainz in their last game, a result that halted a three-game winning run. That scoring blank aside, Leipzig have been consistent scorers in the league, netting 60 goals this season, averaging more than two goals per match. The visitors would be desperate to get back to their scoring best, as Dortmund have moved three points away with a win over Bayern Munich. Thankfully, their recent scoring form on the road has been impressive, with Leipzig scoring 14 goals across their last five away league games.
