Francisco Cerundolo vs Yannick Hanfmann Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP French Open

Francisco Cerundolo is the 23rd seed at Roland Garros and reached the fourth round of this Grand Slam last year. He begins his 2024 campaign with a first round match against unseeded Yannick Hanfmann. For the winner there's a match in the last 64 against either Christopher O'Connell or quallifier Filip Migoilic. Cerundolo is at 27th in the live rankings as he's defending the points earned when reaching the last 16 in 2023. In the Live ATP Race, the Argentinian is placed 30th. He's had a busy time on clay this year and this is his tenth tournament of 2024. His best performance has been getting to the semi-finals in Rio and the last eight in Madrid.  In the latter tournament he beat both Tommy Paul and Alexander Zverev. He's won 12 Challenger Tour clay court tournaments and has lost in three ATP Tour finals on this surface.

Yannick Hanfmann is playing in his 11th clay court event of 2024 and is 85th in the live rankings. He also played on the South American tour and made it to the last eight in Cordoba and then the last 16 in Rio. His results have been patchy since then though and he's failed to make it past the last 16 of any clay court event. His most recent tournament was in Geneva where he beat Andy Murray but then lost to Novak Djokovic in round two. A win over Cerundolo will take him into round two at Roland Garros for only the second time. Cerundolo leads Hanfmann 3-1 in previous meetings, all played on clay. The pair met in last year's French Open with Cerundolo winning in straight sets. Hanfmann won their most recent match but only after his opponent retired.
