Formula 1 heads to the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on Sunday afternoon for the Spanish Grand Prix. Oscar Piastri leads the driver standings with 161 points, now just three points ahead of his McLaren teammate Lando Norris in second, while reigning champ Max Verstappen is in third with 136 points. Let’s get into the race prediction. 

McLaren’s rocketship produced during qualifying in Spain this weekend, as Oscar Piastri claimed his fourth pole of the season with a stunning lap, clocking 1m 11.546s. 

The Australian never looked likely to be challenged based on his free practice runs, but the other papaya car of Lando Norris turned up in Q3 to clinch second. 

The Brit finished 0.209s behind his teammate, edging Red Bull’s maestro Max Verstappen, who again could do little to keep up with the papaya team’s pace. 

George Russell recorded the exact time as the Dutchman but crossed the line later, forcing him to settle for P4, while Lewis Hamilton put in a solid run, rounding out the top five. 

The second Mercedes and Scuderia cars of Kimi Antonelli and Charles Leclerc will start from P6 and P7, respectively, with Pierre Gasly, Isack Hadjar and Fernando Alonso filling out the top 10. 

Yuki Tsunoda had another frustrating qualifying, as he struggled to get up to speed and will start at the back of the field.
