Formula 1 is off to Circuit Zandvoort this weekend for the 2025 Dutch Grand Prix on Sunday afternoon. Oscar Piastri leads the F1 driver standings with 284 points, nine points ahead of his McLaren teammate Lando Norris in second. Max Verstappen is third with 187 points. Let’s get into the race prediction.

McLaren’s duo produced one of their most dominant qualifying performances of this season, with Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris going back and forth during an intense Saturday session.

The Brit was the benchmark during the practice sessions, but his Australian teammate went quickest in Q1. From a neutral’s perspective, it’s what you want to see in qualifying, with the two Papaya team drivers pushing each other to the limit. 

In the end, Piastri clinched pole with a time of 1m 08.662s, just 0.012s ahead of his teammate, setting up a 1-2 McLaren front row. Max Verstappen was forced to settle for P3, 0.263s off Piastri.

The standout performance by some distance during qualifying came from Racing Bulls’ Isack Hadjar, who recorded a career-best P4, edging out George Russell and the two Ferraris in Ps 5,6 and seven, respectively.

Racing Bulls day got even better with Liam Lawson clocking 1:09.500 to put both machines in the top 10 on the grid. Carlos Sainz and Fernando Alonso rounded out the top 10.
