Our free 2025 Club World Cup prediction: who to bet on?
After the domestic leagues and cups, as well as the three European cups and the Nations League, 32 teams from around the globe came together to contest the Club World Cup! There was clearly a big push by FIFA to make this a more prestigious tournament, with one of the biggest changes now being that this competition would take place once every four years.
Ultimately it was an entertaining event of which the clubs all seemed to take quite seriously. In the end, the last two teams standing were the reigning UEFA Champions League winners PSG facing off against UEFA Conference League champions Chelsea. Coming into the final, many expected the Parisians, who had just capped off a quadruple-winning season, to add yet another trophy to their collection. However, Enzo Maresca had other plans as he was able to get the better of his managerial counterpart Luis Enrique on the day and guided his Blues to a stunning 3-0 victory.
Once again, Cole Palmer was at the center of Chelsea's best attacking moves and the 23-year-old was involved in all three team goals - scoring twice and setting up Joao Pedro. This scintillating performance in the final led to Palmer being named Player of the Tournament.
We'll have to wait four years until the next edition, but you can be sure that we'll be ready with our 2029 Club World Cup prediction when the time comes!
2025 Club World Cup semi-final results and final prediction
And then there were two! The Club World Cup reaches it's conclusion and it's PSG and Chelsea who will battle it out for the crown. Chelsea were able to outlast Brazilian side Fluminense with an excellent brace by new signing Joao Pedro while the Parisians blew away Real Madrid and had the match wrapped up after just 24 minutes. Below are the results:
- Fluminense 0-2 Chelsea
- PSG 4-0 Real Madrid
Now the reigning Champions League winners will take on the Conference League title holders on Sunday. So who will take it down? We've been backing PSG from the very beginning and aren't changing our mind now! Les Rouge et Bleu have carried over from a quadruple winning season and appear to be playing with all the momentum and confidence in the world right now. They've also faced the more challenging road to get here, while making light work of some quality opposition.
- PSG vs Chelsea - 13 July, 20:00 BST
2025 Club World Cup quarter-final results and semi-final predictions
The highlight of the quarter-final was a mammoth showdown between reigning European champions PSG and Bundesliga winners Bayern Munich. The Parisians, who are playing with incredible confidence, had the decisive touch and eased to a two-goal victory. Elsewhere, Chelsea was able to outlast a tough Palmeiras side and remain the English Premier League's only representation in the final four. Check out the full results below:
- Palmeiras 1-2 Chelsea
- Fluminense 2-1 Al Hilal
- Real Madrid 3-2 Dortmund
- PSG 2-0 Bayern Munich
There was a fascinating matchup between two giant-killers as Fluminense and Al Hilal went to battle in Orlando. 2023 Copa Libertadores champions Fluminense, who knocked off Inter, were able to prevail against an in-form Al Hilal who had been riding high after knocking off Manchester City.
Dortmund's struggles against Real Madrid continued and despite a wild end to the match which saw four goals scored in stoppage time, it was Los Blancos that cruised through to the semis. Take a look at the semi-final fixtures below with the four remaining teams:
- Fluminense vs Chelsea - 08 July, 20:00 BST
- PSG vs Real Madrid - 09 July, 20:00 BST
In their sixth match of the 2025 Club World Cup, Chelsea will face a Brazilian team for a third time. They lost 3-1 to Flamengo in the group stage but were impressive against Palmeiras in the quarters. They've been fortunate in a sense, as landing in the top half of the draw saw them avoid teams such as PSG, Bayern, Real Madrid and Juventus. Chelsea also dodged Manchester City as the Citizens were sent packing in the round of 16. All they can do, however, is beat the team that's put in front of them. Fluminense have done exceptionally well and the Brazilian fans will certainly be proud of their performance. Unfortunatley for them, it's going to be tough to stop Chelsea who have been taking care of business.
Another huge matchup for PSG who have been battling through some tough competition. The UCL champs are proving that they are the best team in the world at the moment and are looking unstoppable. This is shaping up to be a must-see game as Real Madrid have also been in fine form in the USA. They've won five of their six matches with their only dropped points coming in a 1-1 draw with Al Hilal in the opener. Xabi Alonso's squad has scored three goals in three of their five games, but will come up against a PSG side that has conceded just once in this tournament. It should be a close one but we like PSG to advance. Therefore, a Chelsea vs PSG final is our prediction!
Our prediction for the 2025 Club World Cup groups
Divided into 8 groups of 4 in total, the 32 clubs will face a total of three opponents in the group phase. The top two from each group qualify for the Round of 16, while the bottom two are eliminated.
Group A - Palmeiras, FC Porto, Al-Ahly, Inter Miami
We start with a very even group! We find the winner of the Copa Libertadores 2023, Palmeiras, a club well known in Europe, FC Porto, the legendary Egyptian club and last winner of the African Champions League, Al-Ahly, and then Lionel Messi's club, Inter Miami.
In our opinion, the Portuguese are the favourites and should qualify. Right behind them, for the second qualifying ticket, the battle should be tough with some very good teams. Although it looks very difficult to decide between them, we give Al-Ahly a very slight advantage, and they should not be underestimated and should be taken seriously.
Group results
- Palmeiras - 5 points
- Iner Miami - 5 points
- Porto - 2 points
- Al Ahly - 2 points
Group B - PSG, Atlético Madrid, Botafogo, Seattle Sounders
The second group is a little less exciting on paper. Paris Saint-Germain, who won the Champions League on 31 May, and Atlético Madrid are the two big favourites to reach the last 16, and it's hard to see them failing to progress from the group stage.
Brazilian club Botafogo, winners of the last Copa Libertatores, and MLS franchise Seattle Sounders should find it very difficult to compete with the two European clubs, in our opinion. After all, their level of play seems to be inferior to that of two big clubs used to Champions League action.
Group results
- PSG - 6 points
- Botafogo - 6 points
- Atletico Madrid - 6 points
- Seattle Sounders - 0 points
Group C - Bayern Munich, Auckland City, Boca Juniors, Benfica Lisbon
We are treated to a superb third group, featuring two Europeans, Bayern Munich and Benfica Lisbon, along with legendary Argentinian club Boca Juniors and Australian side Auckland City. Once again, there is little suspense.
The Munich side will finish top of the table and book their ticket for the rest of the competition without too much trouble, while Lisbon are more than capable of taking second place. Although we will have to be wary of Boca's grit, our prediction is that the two Europeans will qualify.
Group results
- Benfica - 7 points
- Bayern Munich - 6 points
- Boca Juniors - 2 points
- Auckland City - 1 point
Group D - Flamengo, Esperance Tunis, Chelsea, Los Angeles FC
Let's move on to Group D. We have Chelsea, winners of the Champions League in 2021, Flamengo, Brazil's historic club, Esperance Tunis, a club with a strong reputation in Africa (Tunisia) and there was Club Léon, who play in the Mexican league. But the latter were excluded from the competition by FIFA, and the identity of the fourth club was decided in a play-off between Olivier Giroud and Hugo Lloris' Los Angeles FC and Club América.
And it was the Americans from LAFC who got the final ticket. In any case, it's the London Blues who are the favourites here, both for us and the bookmakers. Just behind them, we imagine that Flamengo have what it takes in terms of personnel and talent to overcome their two other opponents and claim the second qualifying ticket for the last 16.
Group results
- Flamengo - 7 points
- Chelsea - 6 points
- ES Tunis - 3 points
- LAFC - 1 point
Group E - River Plate, Urawa Red Diamonds, CF Monterrey, Inter Milan
Group E promises to be very interesting! It features Inter Milan, another legendary Argentinian club, River Plate, as well as Japan's Urawa Red Diamonds and Mexico's CF Monterrey.
There is little doubt as to who will finish top of the group, with the Nerazzurri in a commanding position. In second place, River Plate have the perfect profile for the second club to qualify for the last 16.
Group results
- Inter Milan - 7 points
- Monterrey - 5 points
- River Plate - 4 points
- Urawa Red Diamonds - 0 points
Group F - Fluminense, Borussia Dortmund, Ulsan HD, Mamelodi Sundowns
Group F, for its part, is probably one of the least competitive of the competition on paper. But it is no less interesting, and we should be treated to some great clashes between Brazilian club Fluminense, 2023-2024 Champions League finalists Borussia Dortmund, South Korean club Ulsan HD and Mamelodi Sundowns FC from South Africa.
BVB are our favourites for top spot, followed by Fluminense. It's hard to see the Korean and South African clubs being able to compete, as they play in much smaller leagues and are less used to this type of fixture.
Group results
- Borussia Dortmund - 7 points
- Fluminense - 5 points
- Mamelodi Sundowns - 4 points
- Ulsan HD - 0 points
Group G - Manchester City, Wydad AC, Al-Aïn FC, Juventus
Group G, on the other hand, has a high standard with the presence of Manchester City and Juventus. There is also Wydad AC, a Moroccan club, and Al-Ain FC, who play in the United Arab Emirates.
Here, it seems very complicated not to give the two qualifying tickets to the Sky Blues and the Old Lady. The other two clubs appear to be far below them in terms of level, quality of play and resources. It's hard to see how they could stand in the way of Europe's two giants.
Group results
- Manchester City - 9 points
- Juventus - 6 points
- Al-Ain - 3 points
- Wydad AC - 0 points
Group H - Real Madrid, Al-Hilal, CF Pachuca, RB Salzburg
The final group features the best club in the world: Real Madrid and their 15 Champions League titles. A second European team is in the group, with Austria's RB Salzburg, followed by Saudi Arabia's Al-Hilal, who will be arriving with players well known to the general public, and Mexico's CF Pachuca.
Real are the clear favourites for top spot, and should have little trouble qualifying for the knockout phase. For second place, we give the ticket to Al-Hilal and their many stars (João Cancelo, Aleksandar Mitrović, Yassine Bounou, Malcom, Rúben Neves, Kalidou Koulibaly, Sergej Milinković-Savić, etc.)!
Group results
- Real Madrid - 7 points
- Al-Hilal - 5 points
- RB Salzburg - 4 points
- CF Pachuca - 0 points
Which prediction for the Club World Cup top scorer?
The ‘Club World Cup top scorer’ bet will also be very popular with punters during the competition, and this is going to offer some very interesting odds to try before the tournament kicks off. If you want to bet on the tournament's future top scorer, there are obviously a number of factors to take into account.
Between the player's recent performances, his ability to score goals, his club's schedule and, above all, his club's real ambitions in this Club World Cup, there is a real analysis to be carried out before attempting to place bets on this bet.
Before the competition kicks off, we're giving an advantage to Kylian Mbappé, who signed for Real Madrid last summer, a club that is one of our favourites for the title and could therefore go very far in the competition. The French international will have plenty of chances to score!

- Erling Haaland (Manchester City)
- Kylian Mbappé (Real Madrid)

- Harry Kane (Bayern Munich)
- Lautaro Martinez (Inter Milan)
- Ousmane Dembélé (PSG)
- Vinicius (Real Madrid)
- Dusan Vlahovic (Juventus)
- Cole Palmer (Chelsea)
- Julian Alvarez (Atlético Madrid)
- Lionel Messi (Inter Miami)

Beginners Guide - how does the new Club World Cup (new format 2025) work?
The Club World Cup has a completely new format. Previously, the tournament was played around the month of December, and featured the winners of various competitions such as the European Champions League (UEFA), the Copa Libertadores (CONMEBOL), the Asian Champions League (AFC), the African Champions League (CAF), the American Champions League (CONCACAF) and the Oceania Champions League (OFC).
At the time, the competition featured just a handful of matches, with single knockout rounds (first and second rounds, semi-finals and final, plus the match for third place), making a total of 7 matches. From now on, the format will be very different.
The new format for the 2025 Club World Cup brings together a total of 32 teams, divided into 8 groups of 4 teams. Each group will play once (3 matches in total), with the top two teams advancing to the last 16. The bottom two teams in each group are simply eliminated from the tournament.
This is followed by a knockout phase for the 16 qualified clubs, starting with the Round of 16 and culminating in the Grand Final on 13 July 2025. Unlike the old format, there will no longer be a match for 3rd place.
Here is a summary of the new format for the 2025 Club World Cup:
- Group draw on 5 December 2024
- Group stage with 8 pools of 4 teams each
- The top 2 teams in each pool qualify for the last 16 (16 in total)
- The bottom 2 teams in each group are eliminated (16 in total)
- Knockout matches from the Round of 16 to the Final (14 July 2025)
Our tips for correctly predicting matches and betting on the Club World Cup
In order to place as many reliable predictions as possible on the new Club World Cup, a rather special competition, certain aspects will be very important if you want to maximise your success. Here are our top tips:
- Analyse the form of the teams in recent weeks
- Keep an eye on players' fitness at the end of the season
- Have a good idea of the squad called up to play in this tournament
- Analyse the real desire of the clubs for this competition
- Don't underestimate the clubs in the lower leagues
If you take these few tips into account before placing your bets, you will be putting all the chances on your side to make the most of your bets on the tournament. Below, we detail each of the points and our arguments.
Analyse the form of the teams in recent weeks
This is obviously one of the most important aspects: paying attention to the form of the clubs entering the competition. While there will be a clear hierarchy between the clubs, with the Europeans in particular ahead on paper, you have to pay close attention to each team's recent results.
Let's imagine, for example, that a club like Benfica ends the season with a run of 6 games without a win, including 5 heavy defeats, and plays its group match against a Boca Juniors side unbeaten in 18 games in all competitions. On paper, the Portuguese club are superior, but watch out for a surprise, as the in-form team could well be the one to favour here!
Keeping an eye on players' fitness at the end of the season
Seasons are getting longer and longer, and players can't necessarily keep up with the pace. It often happens that certain players are no longer at their best at the end of the season, whether because of the succession of matches, psychological fatigue or minor injuries.
You'll need to pay attention to the latest performances of each club's star players, an aspect that will be of vital importance to the success of your sports bets. Chelsea without a great Cole Palmer or PSG without an in-form Barcola or Dembélé are clearly not the same teams as usual, for example.
Have a good idea of the squad called up to play in this tournament
It's the big question mark right now: will Europe's biggest clubs call up AND field their stars for this 2025 Club World Cup? We've already said it, but the season has already been long enough, and many players have not missed an opportunity to complain about it in interviews.
It will be very important to see whether clubs choose to bring their best players, or let them go on holiday to rest and prepare for the next season. If Kylian Mbappé, Jude Bellingham and Vinicius don't come with Real, for example, that would change a lot of things.
Analyse the clubs' real desire for this competition
This point is somewhat similar to the one mentioned above. As we know, FIFA wants to make this competition a real success, and has offered a lot of money to the clubs taking part in this Club World Cup. If bonuses are also going to be added depending on how the team performs, this could add a definite incentive.
But for clubs that are already coming off a full season and are among the best in Europe, such as PSG, Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid, the promised reward might not have much impact on a club's real desire to go far in this tournament.
We'll be keeping a close eye on what players, coaches and chairmen say, but also on the content of the first few matches.
Don't underestimate the clubs in the lower leagues
We'll end with a very important point: while they won't be upsetting the entire hierarchy, we absolutely mustn't underestimate the smaller clubs at this Club World Cup 2025. With all the arguments and issues we have just discussed, and in particular the already busy seasons of the big clubs and star players, we could be in for a few surprises in this tournament.
It will therefore be important not to underestimate clubs considered inferior on paper, and to place large sums on handicap bets with a wide goal difference, for example. This advice should be applied at least to the first few matches, to get a feel for the competition.
By following these few tips, you will maximise your chances of success on your bets during the 2025 Club World Cup.
What not to do for your Club World Cup predictions
Now that you've got your Club World Cup predictions down to a fine art, let's get down to the nitty-gritty of what not to do. Here's our list:
