Finland Women will take on Scotland Women in an international friendly on Tuesday evening at the Ratinan Stadion. Currently ranked 29th according to FIFA standings, Finland come into this match following a 2-0 win over Iceland, which extended their excellent run of form to six wins in a row and seven unbeaten in total. During that time, they were involved in the Cyprus Women’s Cup and won the competition, which featured Croatia, Hungary, and Romania. Finland will not be attending the Women’s World Cup as they were unable to qualify in Group A, with Sweden topping the group and the Republic of Ireland finishing second. Since then, though, they have scored an incredible 22 goals in the seven matches leading up to this one while only conceding three. At home, Finland have won four and lost six of their last ten matches, though they have won their last two, scoring 12 goals in that time. The hosts are unbeaten against this opponent in their last three encounters, which included two 1-0 victories over them in 2020. 

Meanwhile, Scotland Women come into this match following a 3-0 win over Northern Ireland, which extended their unbeaten record to five matches, including four wins and a draw. During the round-robin stages of that competition, Scotland managed one win, one draw, and one loss, finishing a point behind Wales and Iceland. They came second in Group B behind Spain but lost in the playoff finals against the Republic of Ireland. Over their last six matches, Scotland have won four, drawn one, and lost one. Carrying a good record into the match, the visitors will be looking for a solid performance here as they build toward the UEFA Women’s Nations League in September.
