Fenerbahce and Twente will face off in the first leg playoff round of the Europa Conference League this week. This match will be played on Thursday evening at the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium. The winner of the two-legged tie will proceed to the group stage of the competition. The hosts secured a 2-0 win over Samsunspor over the weekend, which took them to the top of the Super Lig in the early stages of the season. They are also the only side in their domestic league that have won their opening two fixtures. Fenerbahce ended last season in second place, eight points behind league winners Galatasaray. Fenerbahce have won each of their six competitive matches so far this season, keeping four clean sheets in that time. The hosts entered this competition in the second round of qualifying and got off to a flying start with a 5-0 home win over Zimbru. They followed that up with a 4-0 win in the second leg and a 6-1 aggregate win over Maribor in the last round. Fenerbahce have conceded just one goal in four matches in this competition while scoring 15. Bookmakers make them out to be a strong favourite to win this first leg. However, the odds are much closer for the hosts to qualify for the next round in the pre-match betting markets. 

Meanwhile, Twente also come into this match off the back of a solid league result. They finished fifth in the Eredivisie last term with 64 points and were unbeaten in their last nine matches of the season. The visitors beat PEC Zwolle 3-1 over the weekend to move into second place in the Eredivisie. They are one of just four sides that are unbeaten after the first two league matchdays. Like their opponents, Twente have not lost a competitive match as yet this season. The only match that they have drawn came in the second leg of their first match in this competition against Hammarby. While that match ended 1-1, Twente had already secured a 1-0 win in their first leg, which saw them progress to the next round 2-1 on aggregate. The last round proved to be an easier assignment as they overcame Latvian outfit Riga 5-0 on aggregate. With those results, Twente are now on a four-match winning streak in all competition. They have also scored two or more goals in each of those four matches. The visitors are 6/1 outsiders to win this match but are 2.5/1 to qualify for the group stage at the moment.
