The Tokyo derby will go down this Monday as FC Tokyo plays host to Tokyo Verdy in the 29th round of matches in the J1 League. Going into this match, the two teams sit side by side in the league standings, separated by one point. We have a prediction below.

FC Tokyo battled deep into their last game before the international break, scoring late to draw 1-1 with Nagoya Grampus. While a win would have done more, the importance of that one point can never be underestimated.

At 31 points, they’ve opened up a six-point gap as the league campaign enters a crucial stage. As they seek three points here, history suggests this might end in shared spoils.
