FC Tokyo vs Cerezo Osaka Prediction & Betting Tips - J.League

Our next match prediction for the J1 League sees us head to the capital as struggling FC Tokyo welcome in-form Cerezo Osaka to the Ajinomoto Stadium. The home side have had a poor season by their lofty standards and will be desperate to land a win against the Cherry Blossoms, who themselves are very much in the battle for a place in the top three at present.

It has been a struggle for FC Tokyo this season, and they sit in a shocking 18th place in the table with 19 points from their 18 games, behind Yokohama on goal difference. Head coach Rikizo Matsuhashi will know that this performance is not good enough for the former 2-time J1 League Champions. In contrast, Cerezo Osaka lie in eighth position in the table with 29 points but having played 20 games. They are just five points behind Kyoto Sanga in second, who have 34 points.

FC Tokyo's recent form isn't great. They have lost all their last four games, three of those defeats in the J1 League. A 3-2 loss at Urawa Reds was followed by two consecutive 3-0 losses, the first at home to Sanfrecce Hiroshima and the second away to Kyoto Sanga. Prior to that last defeat, they also lost 1-0 away to Shonan Bellmare in the J-League Cup.

Cerezo have lost just one of their last seven J1 League games and are unbeaten in three matches, defeating Avispa Fukuoka 2-0 at home, drawing 0-0 away to Urawa Reds and then beating Shimuzu S-Pulse 4-2 at home.  Their most recent match saw them defeat Arterivo Wakayama 5-0 in an Emperor Cup match.
