Places in Europe are up for grabs as the Danish Superliga championship round takes center stage. In one of the matches lined up for Sunday, Midtjylland hosts Copenhagen at the MCH Arena. These two sides had mixed results in the opening two matches of this round. Midtjylland rose from defeat to beat AGF 1-0 in their last match but stayed second on 51 points. They will hope to leap into the Champions League position with a win here. Buoyed by a run of five wins in six matches, they’ll feel confident about this game. They managed home and away wins over Copenhagen in the regular season, and will be positive of extending that here. When hosting this encounter, Midtjylland are unbeaten in the last three, winning two. In their last home league match, they lost to Nordsjælland and saw their eight-game unbeaten run at home go up in smoke. Midtjylland have however registered five wins in the last six home matches in the Superliga and remain a strong side at home.

Copenhagen haven't done well in their recent league matches against Midtjylland. However, they won 1-0 in their cup meeting in October and will have a level of confidence going into the teams' fourth meeting this season. That win in the cup is Copenhagen’s only victory over Midtjylland in their last six meetings. Copenhagen also failed to pick up well in the championship round, and come here on two straight losses. In their last game, they lost 2-1 to Nordsjælland, failing to recover from a similar defeat by Brõndby. This run leaves them third on 45 points. Having played in this season’s Champions League, Copenhagen will want more than just the Conference League place. They will have to work for it though, and a run of three losses in five away league matches isn’t encouraging enough.
