The second quarter-final at the Indian Super Cup pits FC Goa against Punjab FC on Saturday afternoon at the Kalinga Stadium. The winner of this match between the Gaurs and the Shers will meet either the Kerala Blasters or Mohun Bagan in the semi-final. Check out our match prediction below. 

After coming up six points behind Mohun Bagan in the ISL and bowing out to Bengaluru in the Cup, FC Goa’s hopes of earning silverware this season come down to this competition. 

Following back-to-back group-stage exits in the last two seasons, the Gaurs secured their place in the last eight of the Super Cup with a 3-0 victory over I-League outfit Gokulam last week. 

Spanish international Iker Guarrotxena scored all three goals for Goa in the round of 16. That result also marked the fourth clean sheet the team has kept in their last seven games. 

Meanwhile, Punjab FC will be hoping to end the season on a high after a poor league campaign in which they finished 10th with just 28 points from their 24 matches.

Despite this, the Shers produced an impressive performance to beat Odisha in the last round 3-0, with Asmir Suljic, Ezequiel Vidal and Nihal Sudeesh all getting on the scoresheet in the victory.

However, Punjab have never beaten their upcoming opponents in their four previous meetings, losing three times and drawing only once.
