Kilmarnock’s European dream lives on and they’ll be traveling to Copenhagen for their next Conference League assignment. The two teams meet in the first leg of the play-off stage this Thursday. Read on for our prediction of this match.

Hosts Copenhagen played in the Round of 16 of the Champions League last season. Having to play at this stage of the Conference League is therefore a massive downgrade. The Danish giants will, however, be focused on getting the first leg advantage.

The ultimate target is to reach the league phase of a European competition and the hosts have a good chance. Copenhagen have had a strong start to the season.

Their only loss in nine matches was in the last round of this competition. They still managed to win it on post-match penalties, eliminating Banik Ostrava.

In the last round, Kilmarnock were among the surprise packages defying odds to eliminate Tromso. They won 1-0 away from home after drawing 2-2 in the home leg. Being two matches away from a place in the league phase, Killie face their toughest task yet.

It hasn’t all been great for Kilmarnock in Europe, and generally this season. They were earlier eliminated from the Europa League before getting on the brink in this competition as well.

While they’ve survived this far, consistency has been the biggest quality lacking at Kilmarnock. In six matches this season, they’ve managed just one win and lost four. In those four defeats, they failed to score. That includes their most recent outing, a 1-0 League Cup loss at Motherwell.
