Basel’s season hasn’t gone well and this game finds them nine points below the championship playoff places. Coming into this game without a win in four straight games, Basel will be hoping for better tidings. They did improve from two straight losses in their last outing as they drew 1- with Winterthur. It however took a stroke of luck as Souleymane Diaby scored a late own goal to save Basel from impending defeat. One positive for Basel in their last five matches would be the consistency in scoring. They managed to score in all the five matches, though in that run they could only get one clean sheet. Three times in their last four matches, they conceded multiple goals. As a result, three of their last four matches returned over 2.5 goals. Also, both teams scored in Basel’s last four matches. They have almost the same script at home. Zurich FC, just like Basel, are looking to bounce back from their recent lows. By the time they headed out to the international break, Zurich had one win in the last five matches. They come into this game with one win in the last five games, and they lost three times in that run. There isn’t much positivity in their away run either, having lost four of the last five matches on the road. At 43 points, they have a five point buffer on seventh placed Luzerne and are in the running for a place in the Championship round.
