Fabian Marozsan vs Carlos Alcaraz Prediction & Betting Tips - ATP Indian Wells

Defending champion Carlos Alcaraz takes on unseeded Fabian Marozsan in the last 16 at Indian Wells. In the quarter finals, the winner of this match will be up against either sixth seed Alexander Zverev or tenth seeded Alex de Minaur. Alcaraz is the world number two in the lastest list (and seeded second here) but down to third in the live list. The Spaniard is only 17th in the Live ATP Race after a steady start to 2024. His best perfomance this year has been a semi-final in RIo on clay. This Masters 1000 tournament is being played on outdoor hard courts and so far in 2024, Alcaraz has got to the last eight on this surface at the Australian Open. A sprained ankle forced him to retire in his last tournament but he seems to have recovered well from that. This tournament has seen him beat unseeded Matteo Arnaldi (after losing the first set) and then defeat 31st seed Felix Auger Aliassime for the loss of only five games.

Surprisingly Fabian Marozsan actually leads Alcaraz 1-0 in previous meetings but that was played on clay. He was ranked 58th at the start of this tournament and is now a career high equalling 57th. The Hungarian reached the third round of the Australian Open earlier this year but it's been an inconsistent 2024 for him and he was 90th in the ATP Live Race going into this tournament. This is actually only the second time this year that he's managed to get a couple of wins in the same tournament and he's up to 58th in the race. WIns have come against lucky loser Jirio Rodionov, 24th seed Nicolas Jarry (after losing the first set) and qualifier Thiago Seyboth Wild. This is a big step up and we go for Alcaraz to win in straight sets.
