Two teams with contrasting Premier League ambitions collide on Tuesday night, when Everton play host to Burnley at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on Matchday 29. The Toffees are in eighth place in the league standings, while the Clarets are 19th after 28 games. Check out our match prediction below!
David Moyes is working his magic on Merseyside again. Since the Scotsman left the Blues at the start of 2013-14, they only qualified for Europe once (Europa League 2017-18), but after a stunning victory at St. James’ Park at the weekend, the People’s Club now trail the top six by just five points heading into the final stretch of the season.
Burnley, on the other hand, are still among the favourites to suffer the drop this season, but they have shown in recent weeks that they will not go down without a fight. Scott Parker’s side took a point from the reverse fixture in December, but can they avoid leaving the blue half of Merseyside empty-handed? Let’s get into the key stats!

Everton - Burnley: Form Analysis
Everton will enter MD29 of the Premier League in high spirits after an excellent performance, securing a massive three points by beating Newcastle United 3-2 on the road on Saturday afternoon.
That was a much-needed win for the Toffees following back-to-back defeats to Bournemouth and Manchester United, and it was the first time they scored three goals in a match since early December.
However, the hosts now need to replicate that form at home, where they were eliminated from the FA Cup by Sunderland last month, and are winless in their last six top-flight matches (D2 L4).
Everton have won their last three home games against this opponent in all competitions!
Meanwhile, despite a spirited comeback from three goals down, a late concession against Brentford at the weekend saw Burnley suffer a 4-3 loss and was the latest blow to their EPL survival hopes.
The Clarets had held Chelsea to a 1-1 draw and pulled off an against-the-odds victory over Crystal Palace before that, but they are still eight points behind Forest - the first side above the dotted line.
The visitors have the second-worst away record in the division with just nine points earned from 14 outings. However, it is worth noting that five of those points have come in their last four games on the road (W1 D2 L1).

Everton & Burnley Squad Analysis
After only scoring once in his first 18 EPL appearances for Everton, Thierno Barry has now netted in five of his last 10 league games, including getting the winner over Newcastle at the weekend.
With Jack Grealish expected to miss the remainder of the season, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall will have a massive role to play for the Toffees. He picked up an assist against the Magpies and now has three goal contributions in his last four league matches.
This week’s hosts came away from St. James’ Park with no new injury concerns, meaning that only Grealish and summer signing Carlos Alcaraz are expected to be sidelined for this fixture.
Six of Zian Flemming’s seven goals this season have come in away games!
Liam Rosenior dubbed the former PEC Zwolle attacker as Burnley’s best header of the ball on MD27. The 27-year-old showed his aerial prowess again on Saturday by nodding home his team’s third goal against Brentford.
Hannibal Mjebri was the Clarets’ best player against the Bees over the weekend, picking up two assists in the match. The Tunisian international has now recorded three goal contributions in his last three EPL games.
The visitors have a lengthy list of injury absentees for this trip to Merseyside, featuring Armando Broja, Axel Tuanzebe, Mike Tresor, Josh Cullen, Jordan Beyer, Connor Roberts, and Zeki Amdouni.

Our Everton vs Burnley Prediction
Everton will have their tails up coming into this match after that stunning victory over Newcastle at the weekend, but they have been leaky in defence of late, having only kept one clean sheet in 2026.
Burnley are still one of the favourites to be relegated this season, but they have shown tremendous fighting spirit lately and were bitterly unlucky to come away empty-handed against Brentford on Saturday. Based on these sides’ recent records, we fancy both to get on the scoresheet in this match. Our Everton vs Burnley prediction is BTTS.
