Rangers are gunning for a return to winning ways when they host Abia Warriors in the Nigerian Premier League this Saturday. This clash pits league leaders Rangers against 11th placed Warriors. Rangers came off worse in their seven-goal thriller against Katsina United, losing 4-3 after twice threatening a comeback. That loss broke their 10-game unbeaten run, but Rangers stayed top with 51 points. They have one of the most consistent runs in recent times in the league, winning eight of their last 11 matches. Here, the hosts will be seeking their 16th win on Match Day 30 of the league. They will not forget the last team to inflict on them a home defeat in the league was the same opponent they entertain. Since that loss, Rangers have gone on a 22-match unbeaten run at home, winning 16. They’ve also done well defensively at home, conceding just twice in their last 11 matches there.

Lately, Abia Warriors have had a good feeling about this fixture. The 1-0 win in the reverse fixture was their fourth straight against Enugu Rangers. It hasn’t been as bad for them in attack when playing away from home though. Abia Warriors have failed to score in just three of their last 12 away league games, but managed just one clean sheet.
