England W vs Italy W Prediction & Betting Tips - Int. Friendly Games, Women

England's Lionesses take on Italy Women on Tuesday evening, kick off 5pm UK Time. Sarina Wiegman's team have bounced back to form in their last three games, defeating the Netherlands 3-2, Scotland 6-0 and then last Friday demolished Austria in stunning fashion earning a 7-2 victory. While that run of wins won't make up for missing out on the Olympics or the Nations League semi-finals, it does show that England appeat back to their best. Beth Mead marked her return to action for the Lionesses with a double as did Alessia Russo, while Grace Clinton scored a debut goal alongside single strikes from Jess Carter and Rachel Daly. Most impressive was England's 13 shots on target out of 17 they attempted in the game.

Italy women were also in action on Friday night but their game was a very different affair as they were held 0-0 by Ireland. It was a disappointing result for Milena Bertolini's team as while they dominated possession, they struggled to create chances against what was a well-organized Ireland defense. In fact, the Irish had more shots on target in the game, mustering three compared to just one for Italy. However, the Italian team cannot be underestimated as they recorded victories in their last two Women's Nations League games back in December, including an outstanding 3-2 away victory over World Champions Spain and an impressive 3-0 home win over Switzerland. This will be the second year in succession the teams meet in a February friendly, as 12 months ago England landed a 2-1 win thanks to a Rachel Daly double seeing them to the win, despire Sofia Cantore's equalizing strike for Italy.
