England’s Lionesses renew acquaintances with Germany’s DFB-Frauenteam in a prestigious international friendly on Friday. Sarina Wiegman’s team come into this game having won just two of their last four matches, a record that they share with their German counterparts. Our prediction is that this match will be a cracker, but what is the best bet to back?

England earned their place in Switzerland next summer by picking up seven points in their last three Euro 2025 qualifiers. A 2-1 win away to France, a 2-1 win at home to Ireland and most recently a 0-0 draw away to Sweden enough to clinch their spot next summer. 

Germany Women’s catalogue of success is superb. Eight times European Champions, twice World Cup winners, Olympic Champions once, they are the most formidable of all European women’s international teams.

But their form of late hasn’t been great. Knocked out of the 2023 World Cup in the Group Stage, Germany qualified for the Nations League but lost to France in the semi-final, before finishing third with a 2-0 win over Netherlands. 

The team finished with a bronze medal in the Paris Olympics in the summer, beating Spain 1-0 after losing in extra-time 1-0 to the United States in the semi-final.
