Linda Noskova will compete in this year’s Wimbledon major as the ninth seed and begins her tournament with an opening round tie against Ella Seidel. The winner of their second career meeting will play Camila Osorio or Simona Waltert next. Our prediction backs Noskova, having lost just once in six games.

Seidel is struggling and could be in line for an early exit here. The German, who lost her Wimbledon debut last season in the first round, has lost six times in her last seven outings.

Three of those defeats have come in her last three grass court appearances. Seidel, who hasn’t won a tour-level match since February, begins at Wimbledon sitting 97th in the live ranking.

Linda Noskova has prepared well for her Wimbledon return and should be one to watch out for. The Czech star has won five of her latest six grass-court fixtures.

Five of those victories were registered in Berlin, where she won only her second tour title. That victory has kept the 21-year-old closer to breaking into the WTA top-10.

Currently ranked 12th in the world, Noskova is coming off a first-round exit at Bad Homburg that was down more to scheduling issues than her fitness or performance. Noskova defeated Seidel two seasons ago in Prague.
