It's been a big week so far for both of these players. Unseeded Eliot Spizzirri takes on qualifier Yibing Wu in round two of the Australian Open. Which of these two players will make it into the third round of this outdoor Grand Slam for the first time? Read our match prediction below.

James Duckworth could be met in round three but it's far more likely to be second seed Jannik Sinner.

Eliot Spizzirri had never previously won a main draw match in this Grand Slam. That all changed when the American beat 28th seed Joao Fonseca in round one. The victory took him to a career-high 76th in the live rankings. He's now won five of his seven matches this year.

Yibing Wu has also made it past round one of the Australian Open for the first time in his career. 

He'd only previously achieved that feat in the US Open. Wu had to qualify for this tournament and won his three matches without dropping a set. Round one of the main draw produced a win over Luca Nardi in four sets.

Wu has won five of his six matches played in 2026 and is 140th in the live rankings.
