Third-place Derry City host fifth-place Bohemians in a key League of Ireland Premier Division clash this week. Just four points separate the two in the current table, with Derry having played one game more than their opponents. The home side have been much better at home than away this season. Winning five of their eight home matches, compared to just one win on the road. They are embroiled in a battle at the top of the table with second-place Shamrock Rovers and league leaders Shelbourne. The home side are unbeaten in their last four games, winning the first two and then drawing the last two including their most recent 1-1 home draw with Shelbourne on Monday.

Bohemians would move within a point of Derry if they can win their game in hand. That is a big ask however for a team that has managed just 14 goals in their 14 games this season, conceding 16. They have not won a game in the last three matches. They were surprised with a 2-0 defeat away to bottom club Dundalk and then followed that with a 1-1 home draw with Shamrock Rovers. However, on Monday they went down to a 1-0 home defeat to Galway United ahead of this game. They have won three and lost three of their six away games so far this season. Consistency is their issue on the road. They lost to bottom club Dundalk in their last away game, but in the away game prior to that, beat top of the table Shelbourne 2-1.
