Derby County vs Norwich Prediction & Betting Tips - Championship

The Rams of Derby County will take on the Canaries of Norwich City in the Championship in one of Saturday’s early kick-offs. Paul Warne’s Derby have contrasting form at home and on the road and will certainly be glad to be playing this game at Pride Park. Will our prediction back the home team or visitors for the win in this eagerly-anticipated match?

Derby come into this game lying 10th in the Championship table, two places above their opponents. They have won three games this season (all at home), losing three (all away from home). Last weekend’s 1-0 defeat away to Sheffield United ended a run of three games unbeaten in which Derby had not conceded a goal. 

Defensively, the Rams have been superb at Pride Park, but two of their three wins in the league have been by a single goal (1-0 wins over Middlesbrough and Cardiff). But they did also despatch Bristol City 3-0 at the end of August.

Norwich’s inconsistent form this season will annoy manager Johannes Hoff Thorup and their fans. Their away form has been problematic with defeats at Oxford (2-0) and Swansea (1-0) alongside a narrow 1-0 win away to Coventry City. 

At home, they have drawn twice (2-2 with Blackburn and 1-1 with Sheffield United) but saved their best performance of the season for the visit of Watford last weekend, where the Canaries won 4-1 at Carrow Road.
