Norway aim to retain their European Women's Handball title. They take on Denmark in the final who beat them in the main round of this tournament. The Norwegians are also the world champions and that loss in the final main round game was their first of thiese European championships. Norway bounced back well from that loss to beat France in the semi-finals. It was certainly a return to form with Norway winning 28-20. They only led by a single goal at half-time but pulled away with a strong second half performance. Norway dominated their preliminary round group but results were a lot tighter in the main round. In their match against Denmark, Norway struggled when it came to penalty throws. Improvement in that area can see them get revenge and retain their title.

Denmark won their main round group thanks to that win over Norway. They have already lost to Slovenia in these championships and had to work hard to get a narrow win against Sweden. The semi-finals saw them defeat Montenegro 27-23. They won the first half 14-10 but their opponents kept battling away but just couldn't get on level terms. Denmark are strong in attack but only ranked fourth in this tournament when it comes to defending. Norway can get revenge and win this final to again become European champions.
