Odisha and Punjab will meet in the round of 16 of the AIFF Kalinga Super Cup on Monday afternoon. The winner of this match between the Juggernauts and the Shers will face either FC Goa or Gokulam Kerala in the quarter-finals. Let’s get into the match prediction. 

Odisha are set to feature in their third straight Super Cup campaign, and they have enjoyed success in this competition, reaching the final in each of the last two editions. 

However, they had a fairly poor domestic league season, failing to qualify for the playoffs, finishing in seventh place with 33 points in their 24 league games. 

The one major positive for the Kalinga Warriors is that they have the home advantage in this competition, which they will look to leverage to make another deep run in the tournament. 

Meanwhile, Punjab FC are setting off on their third Super Cup campaign and will be hoping for a better run here, having failed to get beyond the group stage in either of the last two editions. 

The Shers had an underwhelming second season in the top flight, dropping to 10th place from eighth the previous season, with a record of eight wins, four draws and 12 defeats. 

However, they will feel that they can compete here, having avoided defeat home and away against this opponent during the 2024-25 ISL season.
