David Goffin caused a big shock in round two when he defeated sixth-seeded Ben Shelton in straight sets. That followed a first round win over Alexandre Muller in which he had to come from a set down.

Goffin is 99th in the live rankings, slipping down the list as he's defending the points earned when making it to the quarter-finals here last year. There's been one previous match with Diallo and the Belgian won a five-setter in straight sets at last year's Australian Open.
