Third seed Danielle Collins and fourth seed Madison Keys will meet in the final of the Internationaux de Strasbourg on Saturday. This is the third meeting between the two and the first as a championship match. Collins is having the best tour campaign of her career. The 30-year-old, who is set to retire at the end of the season, will play in her third final of the year. Never before has she contested more than two WTA finals in a season. She has won her first two, in Miami and Charleston, and will seek to continue with her impeccable record in finals. Collins has lost only one of the five championship matches she has been a part of. Two of her titles have been achieved on clay. The now-world number 10 defeated Anhelina Kalinina in the semi-finals by the loss of eight games to earn her 34th win of the year. Collins defeated Keys in their first encounter back in 2018.

Madison Keys has made quite the return in Strasbourg after almost 10 years away. The 29-year-old is yet to drop a set in the tournament. She defeated Liudmila Samsonova by the loss of four games in the last round. Keys, who has now won 13 of 18 contests this year, hasn’t relinquished more than five games to her opponents here. A seven-time tour champion, Keys has progressed to her first final of the season. This has propelled her up three places to 13th in the live ranking. A win here will move her up one place and closer to making a return to the WTA top 10. Keys hasn’t dominated in championship matches quite like Collins and has lost five finals. She defeated Collins the last time they met, which was five years ago on her way to the Brisbane final.
