Crystal Palace - Liverpool: Form Analysis
So much has been said about Crystal Palace’s underdog status coming into this game. They will be comfortable that way, as it was a similar narrative in the FA Cup final against Manchester City.
In the end, they halted their 120-year wait for a major title. Palace will, however, want to be cognisant of the fact that the last four Community Shield first-timers ended up as losers.

Crystal Palace haven't been as expressive in the transfer market as their opponents. They have only enlisted the services of Borna Sosa and Walter Benitez.
There will, however, be some good news with the return from injury of former Liverpool man, Nathaniel Clyne. The defender joins Marc Guehi and Adam Wharton on the returnees list but Chadi Riad and Cheick Doucoure are still out.
