The final day in the 2023/24 Championship season sees ninth-place Coventry City hosting 17th-placed Coventry City. A terrible stretch of form in the last 30 days has seen Coventry City’s playoff promotion hopes fizzle out. Indeed, it’s been a rough end to the season for the Sky Blues who have managed just a single point in their last five games. A 2-1 home loss to Ipswich Town last weekend was the latest defeat and marked the team’s third loss in their last four outings at the CBS Arena. After finishing fifth last season, this year’s regression will be a disappointment to the fans, especially as it looked at times like Coventry would make a push for the top six. They had recovered from a slow start to pull off a 13-match stretch where they would go 8-4-1 from November 2023 until the end of January 2024. Ultimately, they were unable to maintain that form and they will now be looking at a fifth consecutive season in the English second tier.

Queens Park Rangers were never really within a shot of making a promotion playoff push after a difficult first half of the season saw them treading water the rest of the way. However, fans have plenty to be optimistic about as QPR have done brilliantly to end the season strong. In their last 13 matches, the Hoops have managed to win seven, draw three and lose just three. Additionally, QPR come into this fixture off the back of two consecutive wins following a 1-0 home win over Preston and a 4-0 home win over Leeds. The latter is particularly impressive given their opponents league placement. It will go up alongside their 2-1 away win over champions Leicester as the best results of the campaign.
