Coventry City's promotion push has faltered in the past few weeks. The Sky Blues are seventh in the Championship and are home to 17th-placed Portsmouth on Wednesday evening. Here's our match prediction.

With six games to play, City are one place and a single point behind the final promotion play-off position. After MIddlesbrough lost at home to Leeds on Tuesday, a win for Coventry will take them back into the promotion play-offs.

City have lost their last couple of league games but they were against the top two teams in the Championship. Home form had produced four successive league wins before being beaten by Burnley.

Portsmouth made a slow start to life back in the Championship. The newly-promoted club were in the bottom three but have fought their way up to 17th. However, Pompey are still only three points above the relegation zone with this game in hand on their rivals.

Just two away league games have been won this season and 14 games lost. Each of their last three away matches in the Championship have ended in defeat and ten of the last 11. That's compared with four wins out of five at home.
