Shelbourne FC face the second of three Irish Premier Division fixtures in seven days on Monday as they visit Cork City. The current Champions have been in good form of late and while their hopes of retaining the league title are slim, they have moved up the table. Will our prediction back the home team Rebel Army or the visiting Shels to land the win?
Cork City boss Gerard Nash has seen his team struggle this season. Turner's Cross hasn't been a happy place for home fans as they remain rooted to the bottom of the table with just 23 points from 32 games. In contrast, Joey O'Brien Shelbourne's improved form of late has seen them move up to fourth in the table with 49 points from 32 games. 14 points behind leaders Shamrock.
League form has been lacking for Cork City of late. They were well-beaten 4-0 by St Patrick's Athletic (away) and then travelled to neighbours Galway and came away with another defeat, this time 2-1. However, they did clinch an FAI Cup Final place, beating St. Patrick's Athletic 3-0 in the semi-final last week.
Shelbourne's recent form is good as they have not been beaten in their past three. A 2-1 win at home to Waterford was followed by a 0-0 draw with BK Hacken at home in the Conference League. On Friday, they travelled to leaders Shamrock Rovers and came away with a superb 1-0 win.
