A United Rugby Championship derby is on the cards in the Challenge Cup when Connacht host Zebre in Saturday’s match. The Westerners will hope to get one over the XV of the North-West and below we have a prediction for this encounter.
The hosts currently occupy the final playoff spot on the standings, with Scarlets and Ulster just a point below them. This was down to their 14-28 loss last time out against South African outfit Bulls.
Connacht had a numerical disadvantage for 36 minutes after Sean Jansen was sent off before Mpilo Gumede also saw red for the Bulls.
Italian side Zebre Parma are struggling on the wrong end of the log as they sit second from bottom with 11 points. Massimo Brunello’s men however picked up their second victory of the season last time out after edging fellow strugglers Ospreys 22-17.
The win brought an end to their worrying four-game losing streak. The visitors however have the worst attack in the league that has seen them register a paltry 106 points. This is 22 points less than the second least potent attack possessed by Ospreys who are a place above them.
Their away form is a source of concern having lost their last 11 games on the road.
