In this weekend's Serie A clash of the 2024-25 campaign, Como will aim to build on their recent victory over Atalanta as they host Verona. This match at the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia is likely to be a high scorer, and our prediction is that there will be at least three goals scored.
Ahead of this round of matches, Como is 15th with five points and only one above the bottom-three. Verona is 10th with six points and only marginally above their hosts. Como produced one of the biggest shocks of this season so far when they defeated Atalanta 3-2 in the last round. That remains their only win of this league campaign, having drawn two and lost two of the remaining four matches.
At this venue specifically, their only match has ended in a 2-2 draw against Bologna. Can Como better that and win here against Verona? The visitors will be desperate for a win themselves, having slipped to consecutive losses against Lazio and Torino. That’s a sharp slide for a side that started the league campaign with two wins from the first three matches.
One of those wins came on the road at Genoa, but a 2-1 loss at Lazio highlights the inconsistencies. In fact, Verona have won two, drawn two, and lost two of their last six away Serie A matches.
