These two players met in last week's Erste Open in Vienna with Cobolli winning in straight sets. The first set went to a tie-break but Machac only took two games off Cobolli in the second set. That was Cobolli's first win over Machac after three previous defeats.
Cobolli went on to lose to top seed Jannik Sinner in the second round but took him to a second set tie-break. The Italian is 23rd in the live rankings and has won 11 of his 29 hard court matches this year but recently reached the last eight in Almaty.
Tomas Machac is struggling for form at present. His loss to Cobolli in Vienna was the fourth he's suffered in his last five matches. Since June, only in the US Open where he made it to round four, has he won two consecutive matches in an ATP Tour event.
