Clermont are in deep relegation trouble and need a home win over Montpellier. The home side are bottom of Ligue 1 with the visitors in 13th place. Clermont are seven points from safety but have a terrible -27 goal difference. They have only won four league games this season and scored just 20 goals. Home form has been poor with only two of their 14 league games won and just nine goals scored. The Lancers nearly pulled off a big surprise last weekend. They drew 1-1 at leaders PSG but led going into the 85th minute. Only one of their last three league games has been lost. With only one win in the last eight at home, they still look on their way to Ligue 2.

Montpellier are six points above the relegation zone. With a better goal difference, they are reasonably safe, but a win here would help. Last weekend saw them beat struggling Lorient (16th in the table) and those were three vital points. Their last two games have both been won 2-0 and only PSG have beaten them in their last five league fixtures. La Pallaide regularly finds the back of the net and has scored at least twice in six of their last seven games. Their last two away league games have been won and we believe a third straight win is on its way.
