Chelsea’s defence of their European title took a slight dent in their last Champions League game, losing 1-0 to Juventus in Group H. On Match Day 3 in the competition, they welcome Swedish side Malmo, hoping to get back to winning ways. The loss in Turin left Chelsea second in the group with three points and Malmo are bottom without a point after two straight losses. Ahead of this game, Chelsea registered a gritty 1-0 win over Brentford, their first clean sheet in five matches. Chelsea have lost just twice in the last 10 matches and it is in those two losses that they’ve failed to score in the last 10 matches. They have seven wins in their 11 matches this season, and in their last 15 Champions League matches, they’ve lost just two, and won 10.

Malmo on the other hand, are coming from a 3-0 win over Ostersunds, their second straight victory but the job against Chelsea will be tougher. They have four wins in their last 11 matches, but in the Champions League, they have three straight losses. Malmo have failed to score in the two group games here while conceding seven in the process. It will be even tougher for them with Bosnian defender Anel Ahmedhodzic suspended after being sent off in their last Champions League game. In Malmo’s last five Champions League matches, they have one clean sheet and they have conceded two or more goals in three of the last five away matches in the same competition.
