Chaves vs Porto Prediction & Betting Tips - League Cup

Chaves host Porto, as Portuguese football is slowly edging towards a return to action through League Cup games. With regards to these sides, they are part of a group also containing Vizela and Mafra. For the hosts, their last game before the international break was an entertaining 2-2 draw against Vizela. It was their third unbeaten game on the spin, leaving them with a point at their League Cup Group. In fact, Chaves have lost just two of their last eight matchups, courtesy of a Benfica demolition and an embarrassing exit to third-tiered side Valadares Gaia. They have also been performing quite well at home. While they have four draws in their last five home games, they are tough to beat on home turf, having lost just two of their last twenty-one at the Estadio Municipal de Chaves. 

Concerning Porto, it will be quite peculiar to see them return to action with a number of their highest profile players still playing for national glory in Qatar. While a significant core of their players are available, difference makers like Diego Costa, Otavio and Mehdi Taremi are not going to feature here, with their gaps apparent in their recent 2-2 draw against second-tiered side Mafra. Despite the frail performance, this was Porto’s first draw after four consecutive victories and thirteen goals scored in the process, while they have only lost to Benfica in their last fourteen encounters. Porto have also been imperious on the road. They have won six of their last seven away games, scoring twenty-three goals and keeping clean sheets in five of those. They have also beaten Chaves in each of their four last away meetings, albeit conceding three times in their previous two against them.
