Atletico Madrid will look to build momentum when they travel to a struggling Celta Vigo on matchday eight of the 2025-26 La Liga campaign. This match at Balaidos between the 17th-placed Los Celestes and the fifth-placed Colchoneros comes with our prediction of an away win with both teams scoring goals.
With five points in the season (D5, L2), Celta are only marginally above the relegation zone, as five teams from 15th to 19th are on the same points tally. Atletico’s 12 points (W3, D3, L1) see them start the round one point outside the top four places.
Celta won 3-1 at home against PAOK last week to post their first competitive win of the season. They drew five and lost three matches before that, and the hosts will hope they can build on that momentum.
In the league, they were beaten 2-1 away at Elche last weekend, but at home they have drawn their three recent league fixtures.
Atletico thrashed Eintracht Frankfurt 5-1 in the Champions League fixture during the week to make it three wins in a row. That included two matches in the league after a 5-2 win over city rivals Real Madrid last weekend.
