Cardiff City will entertain Oxford United in their next outing in the EFL Championship, hoping to boost their survival hopes. They currently sit second from bottom with three matches to go, while Oxford are six points above them in 19th. Our prediction for this match is below.
Cardiff are in the red. The Bluebirds have amassed 42 points and need to win their remaining games to stand a chance of avoiding relegation. Omer Riza’s men are three points from safety in a congested relegation battle.
They have won just twice in their last 14 games across all competitions and are winless in five. The Welsh club suffered its second successive loss on Friday, going down 2-0 at Sheffield United.
Oxford are also coming off a loss. Gary Rowett’s men, who are in the relegation picture, were pegged back 1-0 at home by Leeds United. That was their 19th loss of the campaign and left them five points above the drop zone.
The U’s have fared better than Cardiff in recent weeks, though they still lack consistency. They have won three times in their last six outings, with one of those victories coming against promotion-chasing Sheffield United.
Oxford won the reverse game 3-2. This was the two teams’ first meeting in more than a decade.

Our Cardiff vs Oxford United Prediction
Our prediction for Cardiff City vs Oxford United is for both teams to score. This match sees two teams battling to avoid relegation face off. As a result, we can expect a hard-fought game that might fail to produce a winner.
But as both teams are keen for a win, seeing each side get on the scoresheet is very likely. Five goals were scored in the reverse game, with both teams scoring at least twice. Cardiff and Oxford also do not possess the meanest of defences and have each conceded over 40 goals in the league.
