Cardiff vs Middlesbrough Prediction & Betting Tips - Championship

Middlesbrough will take the long trip to South Wales on Saturday afternoon to take on Cardiff in a game that will be played for top-half pride. Cardiff are a single point behind Middlesbrough as things stand coming off a 2-1 win over Southampton last weekend. They have been able to get themselves fired up for the big teams coming to Wales, their home win prior to Southampton coming over Ipswich but they suffered reverses against Sunderland and Hull in between. Inconsistency has plagued their feast or famine season with no team drawing fewer games in the Championship. A lack of goals, especially at home, has hurt them, with defender Perry Ng their joint-top scorer in the league with six. They have spread them around but lack a natural sniper to help them.

In contrast, Middlesbrough away games tend to be full of goals. Only top-of-the-league Leicester have scored more away from home this season while out of the top 18 in the division, only Norwich has conceded more on the road. They have only managed to stop QPR and Sunderland from scoring in those games but have only been blanked themselves on three occasions. Emmanuel Latte Lath has been their number-one talisman this season, scoring six times in their last four games in a run of red-hot form to end the season. Boro has scored eight goals in that time which makes his exploits even more impressive. They beat Cardiff 2-0 at The Riverside back in early October with Lath scoring the second that day. Goals have been far less common there this season to the tune of one less per game overall than when they are away from home.
