Huddersfield Town will continue with their quest for survival with an away match against Cardiff City in the Championship. Cardiff are nine points outside the top six while Huddersfield are just a place above the relegation zone. Consecutive wins have seen Cardiff rise to 11th with 47 points. Those wins haven't just returned their confidence but also rekindled their promotion playoff hopes. The most recent of those wins came in their last outing away to Bristol City. Perry Ng’s lone goal was all they needed to bank three points and go three matches unbeaten. It was one of the few low-scoring matches they’ve had in recent times. Half of their last 10 matches produced over 2.5 goals while they failed to score in two of their last five games. Their recent run presents much improvement and Erol Bulut will want to extend this. The six losses in their last 10 matches now seem distant but there’s still work to do at home. In their last five home matches, Cardiff have failed to score in four, and lost three. They’ve managed just two wins in 10 home matches.

Huddersfield, like their hosts, have also had an upturn of form, picking seven points in their last four matches. They now have 38 points from 35 matches. The most recent of those came in a 1-1 draw with Leeds United in their last game. Michal Helik scored the game’s opener but they managed just to hold on as Jonathan Hogg was sent off almost immediately. Having lost 4-0 to Cardiff in the reverse fixture, Huddersfield will enter this game with caution. They know another loss here could sink them back in the red zone and thus will have a bigger effort. Three wins in four meetings with Cardiff should give them the confidence to go for three points here. Huddersfield have however struggled away from home, winning once in the last nine. Twice in their last five away matches, they conceded five times. Understandably though, one of them was against Manchester City in the FA Cup.
