Cape Town City will play host to cross-town rivals Stellenbosch in the PSL on Tuesday evening. The hosts are currently in second place in the league standings, while the visitors are fifth. The race for the top three spots in the league is red-hot, with just three points separating the chasing pack. Cape Town City lead the charge behind runaway leaders Sundowns, currently on 31 points after 18 matches, level with third-placed Supersport United on the same points total. However, the Citizens will be looking to avoid a fourth consecutive winless match here following three consecutive draws, including back-to-back against Matsansantsa and Chippa United. Still, the hosts are unbeaten in their last five home games in the PSL this term and have only lost one of their seven games to date (W4 D2 L1). When these two faced off in the reverse fixture back in December, it was Stellies who pulled off a 1-0 win, but the hosts are the favorites in this one, according to the bookmakers. 

Meanwhile, Stellenbosch are also looking to avoid a fourth winless match following three draws since the start of February. They drew 1-1 in each of those games, with the most recent coming over the weekend when they were held by Chippa United at home. That result took Stellies to 28 points, though they crucially do have one game in hand on each of the three teams directly above them in the league standings. In the PSL, the visitors are unbeaten in their last nine games, including six wins and three draws, dating all the way back to September against Sundowns. On the road, Stellies are unbeaten un their last five games and managed to keep clean sheets in three of those. Stellenbosch have got the better of this opponent in recent times, unbeaten in their last six meetings (W5 D1 L0) and another victory here could see them end the midweek fixtures in the top two with a little bit of luck with results elsewhere.
