Cape Town City and Kaizer Chiefs will look to keep the pressure on the sides above them in the PSL when they face off on Saturday afternoon. The hosts are currently in fifth place in the league standings, while the visitors are seventh. The New Year has been a bit of a nightmare for Cape Town City. They are yet to win a match in 2024 and come into this fixture following a 2-0 loss away to Royal AM in their last outing. That result extended their current winless run to four matches in a row, including 1-1 draws against Chippa United and Supersport United and a 1-0 defeat against Stellenbosch at the start of the month. Meanwhile, Kaizer Chiefs enter this encounter following a 3-2 defeat in the Soweto derby against arch-rivals Orlando Pirates earlier this month. Like their opponents, Chiefs have found it difficult to get results in the New Year, winning just one of their four league games to date and also getting knocked out of the Nedbank Cup by Milford last month. That loss to Pirates left them on 29 points and also saw them drop two places in the league table to seventh, trailing the top three by four points as it stands. In ten away games this season, the Glamour Boys have a record of three wins, two draws, and five losses, and they are also winless in their last three games on the road, drawing twice and losing the most recent. The visitors have failed to beat this opponent in their last six attempts (W0 D1 L5) dating back to January 2021 and have been outscored 8-2 in that time.
